Overview of 2010
God-centred life depends on God’s Word for its main diet.As we begin a new decade, we want to be totally committed to God’s Mission to save the world. There will be key opportunities to share Christ. We kick off the year with the Johnny Burns Visit in February (19-21). Johnny Burns is a gifted Christian musician. He writes and plays wonderful music especially for children. Burns' ministry will involve Kids’ Friendship Services, a “Music in Family Life” workshop and Musicians Training.
During Easter in April, there will be opportunity to share Christ with the Stained Glass Masquerade musical. This will be put up by The Believers Music ministry. Our Mission focus will continue with more overseas mission trips and will climax with Mission Conference and Retreat (Sep 3-5) where Dick Dowsett of the UK will anchor our talks.
God’s other priority is for us to grow and mature in becoming like Jesus. To help us on our way, we will feed on God’s Word while engaging in our main activity of prayer and depending on the constant companionship of the Spirit. For 2010, we have chosen the epistles of 1 & 2 Thessalonians for its warnings of the End, the wisdom book of Ecclesiastes for its practical Godliness, Mark for its focus on Jesus and the Lamentations for its sorrow.
The highlight of our year is our annual ARPC Camp (June 9-13). As we begin a new decade, I thought it important and appropriate that I preach and set the vision by turning our eyes to God. Our Theme is “The Trinity and Us”. Our God is uniquely Father, Son and Spirit. So many of us are unaware of the lofty heights of this glorious reality and the practical implication of the Trinity.
Our Equip Conferences (EC), Centre of Preaching (COP) and Pathways - GROWTHPath, PEOPLEPath and WORLDPath - will complement of our main diet of God’s Word in our weekly Sermons and Discipleship Groups. The prayerful purpose of these pathways is simple: To equip and unleash EACH person to serve God personally, locally and globally. Come & join us in being a part of God’s World!
